BEHIND EVERY INGREDIENT IS A STORY

The Green Onion Story

SOURCE

Muranaka Farm, a third generation family farm, has been growing green onions exclusively for P.F. Chang's for over 10 years.

“The role of the farmer is to provide that nutritious resource that has such high flavor and value that makes life go. And if that’s green onions, then that’s great!” – Charles Muranaka

Muranaka Farm grows a 16” green onion exclusively for us that you won’t find in a grocery store. Because of this size, every piece of the green onion is used in various recipes so that nothing goes to waste!

The ends are finely chopped and used in our “scallion mix,” which provides an aromatic element to some of our signature recipes, like Chang’s Spicy Chicken.

The middle is snipped into 4” pieces that are used for texture and flavor in Mongolian Beef and Pad Thai.

Sometimes called “the meat” of the onion, this part is chopped (with impressive knife skills, we might add) and used in Chang’s Lettuce Wraps.
